Introduction about Magnet Kitchens

Have you ever heard about Magnet Kitchens? If you think it has something to do with magnet, you are right. If it has something to do with kitchen appliances, you are also right. Magnet is actually a name of a kitchenette product; to be exact; it is a retail store with more than 200 branches all over United Kingdom. The retailer itself is using products with the name of Magnet and Magnet Trade.

Magnet Kitchens was first founded in Bingley in 1918 by Tom Duxburry. Now the headquarter is in Darlington, Durham County. The history said that Duxburry names his first business after the horse name which he had traded in order to open up his business. In 1920s the company started its own mass production and provided supplies for door, window and joinery products, including joinery components for constructions companies. Then other branches were opened in Keighley, Grays, and then Knaresborough to meet customers demand. Since then the business flourished and grew.

The kitchenette products were started to produced and introduced to the market in early 1970s, after the previous success in joinery products. In 1975, Magnet Kitchens became the biggest manufacturers in Britain with specialization in joinery products with about 115 branches.
